If you have never made your own underwear, you might scratching your head: but where do I even begin?! What fabric do I need? How much? Do I need a special sewing machine to sew underwear? What thread should I use for sewing knickers? Let's break it all down and make the process less daunting :)

There're two general issues with female underwear for me: material & fit. I want it 100% natural and I want it to sit well around my body. I have never found a pair that was both.

Do you have a "weird body shape"? Because I certainly do. What is actually "weird"? Not fitting into standard sizing systems? Does it make my body weird or am I simply a human woman?

We don't do ready sewing patterns, we teach pattern drafting. The idea, that the only way to "sew clothes" is to use a "ready sewing pattern" is so ingrained in society that when you offer something else, people look at you with a very confused face.

Clothing industry (as well as ready-pattern industry) wants to put us in the boxes. And these boxes differ from country to country. We compare ourselves to each other, we try to fit into the smaller size as if it makes us smaller. It doesn't.

We're always looking for different ways to explain how our clothes making courses are different, why our system works so well. And here's an analogy I've just thought of. If you've ever learned a foreign language, you'll understand what I mean.

One of the biggest misconceptions about clothes making is that pattern design is complicated and you need some specially trained people to create sewing patterns for you to follow. The truth is: every single pattern follows the same principles, there's no magic.

While the world has collectively decided to label everything to do with clothes making with one word "sewing", we disagree with it. Sewing is only one step of the beautiful clothes making process.

The biggest mistake of a clothes-making novice is the belief that they can start working with silks right away. Slidey fabrics are tricky to work with for everyone, with experience you'll be better at handling them but they will remain complicated fabrics.

I stopped buying clothes in 2019. And after five years of intense research of the industry, it will most likely remain this way. I am a very picky customer and most brands simply do not pass my test. Whenever I try to look at ready-to-wear, I feel like I've wasted my time.
